Features of our Products

1

Increase in Grade

Low grade and non leachable mineral material is first crushed and classified in the crushing unit, and then high grade zinc concentrate is produced using Welz furnaces.

3

Zinc Absorption by Electrolysis

The electrolysis unit at Isfahan Zinc Smelting Company has 120 zinc absorption cells, with each cell containing 25 rows of anodic cathodes. The zinc sulfate present in the solution is decomposed into Zn2+ ions by the electric current, and zinc sheets are formed on the cathode plates.

2

Tested Products

The laboratory unit, equipped with three atomic absorption devices and a spectrophotometer, has the ability to measure elements such as zinc, lead, copper, cadmium, cobalt, iron, manganese, nickel, magnesium, silver, and silica. This unit is responsible for quality control of the produced products by continuous sampling and performing precise analyses at all stages of production.

4

Minimum Impurity Percentage

In the solution preparation unit, which operates in four shifts, processes are carried out to produce a solution containing zinc sulfate, ensuring that the percentage of interfering impurities is minimized.

Production

High-Grade Concentrate Unit

The production unit consists of two sections: crushing and Wells furnaces. The low-grade, non-leachable ore is first classified in the crushing unit and then processed in the Wells furnaces to produce high-grade zinc concentrate.

Element Measurement

Laboratory Unit

The laboratory unit, equipped with three atomic absorption devices and a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, has the ability to measure elements such as zinc, lead, copper, cadmium, cobalt, iron, manganese, nickel, magnesium, silver, and silica.

This unit is responsible for ensuring quality control of the produced products through continuous sampling and precise analysis at all stages of production.

Solution Preparation Containing Sulfate

Solvent Unit

In the solution making unit, which is working in four shifts, operations are carried out to produce a solution containing zinc sulfate in which the percentage of disturbing impurities has been reduced to a minimum. The solution making operation is carried out in three stages:

Dissolution / hot treatment / cold treatment

After cold and hot treatment, the resulting solution, which is zinc sulfate free of impurities and is called make-up, is analyzed by the quality control unit and sent to the electrolysis unit after ensuring the absence of disturbing elements.

Zinc Absorption Cells

Electrolysis Unit

The electrolysis unit of Zob Ahan Zinc Company has 120 zinc absorption cells, each containing 25 rows of anodes. The zinc sulfate in the solution is decomposed into Zn²⁺ ions when an electric current passes through, and zinc metal forms on the cathode plate, creating zinc sheets.

The cathodes are peeled every 24 hours, and the resulting zinc sheets, after weighing, are delivered to the melting and casting unit. In total, 30 tons of zinc sheets are produced daily in these units. The solution cooling in the electrolysis cycle is carried out by 3 cooling tower devices.

Melting of Produced Sheets

Melting and Casting

The sheets produced in the electrolysis unit are transferred to the furnace, where they are melted at a temperature range of 450 to 500°C. The molten material is then poured into molds with capacities of 25 kilograms or 1 ton, ready for the consumer market.
